Surgical Care

wisdom teeth extractionDental surgical procedures are sometimes necessary to remove badly decayed teeth or to treat conditions resulting from a dental infection. Dr. Stephens performs routine tooth extractions in our office.

In some cases, Dr. Stephens may recommend that surgical procedures be performed by an Oral Surgeon or Periodontist (gum specialist). He will then work closely with these providers to manage the healing process and to provide any necessary restorative procedures such as bridges, implant restoration or custom dentures to restore proper bite function.

Wisdom Teeth Extraction
Third molars, or wisdom teeth, typically erupt in early adult years. These "extra" teeth are positioned far back in the mouth and can be difficult to clean, making them problematic for most people. If you have wisdom teeth, we may recommend that they be removed to prevent infection or decay that might affect surrounding teeth.

For your comfort during dental procedures, our office is equipped with Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) for a mildly relaxing effect during dental treatment.

Our office adheres to strict sterilization procedures that meet or exceed all guidelines for OSHA,
the CDC and the American Dental Association.
